WOW WORD : SCOTLAND or LOCH | | The Mysterious Tadpole by Steven Kellogg | NESS MONSTER (theory)
Scotland is at the northern end of the island of Great Britain, surrounded by water on 3 sides. The land is rugged and rural life is hard so most of Scotland's people live in its four major cities;Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Dundee.
In Scotland a lake is called a loch. Loch Ness is only one of the many lakes. There is Loch Shin, Loch Lochy and Loch Lormond. Scotland's surface was scarred by glaciers during the Ice Age. These huge blocks of ice moved over the land gouging out deep valleys and hollowing lakes among the mountains. Loch Ness lies among the high, rocky hills in the Highland region of Scotland.
